This zoo has over 50 animals of various species. During the Christmas season, you can view and feed Santa’s reindeer and meet Santa himself. The zoo also has a library, museum, and a nature gallery. Lakemont Park is a beautiful park that offers lots to do for the whole family. It has a basketball court, tennis courts, a play area, a softball field, a skate bowl and picnic shelters. Play golf and make new friends at the Golf Club at Newcastle. It has two, 18-hole golf courses, a clubhouse, dining areas and practice facilities. Cougar Mountain has a few elementary schools and private schools in its vicinity. Two unique schools in the area are Hillside Student Community School and Open Window School. Hillside is a college preparatory school, and Open Window enrolls gifted students who are in kindergarten through eighth grade.
The real estate properties in Cougar Mountain are condos and one-story and two-story single family dwellings.
